When baking product on an AutoBake system, there are several depanning options available depending on the product: 

Tumble Depanning - As the pans come to the end of the Auto-Bake line, they are inverted and the product “tumbles” out onto a take-away conveyor located under the line.  The product then travels on to it’s next process.  The product remains in the same orientation as it was in the pan.

Robotic Depanning – there are two (2) types of robotic depanning.
• The first is a vacuum depanner with which the product is gently lifted out of the pan and placed onto a take-away conveyor.  The product can be depanned one or two pans at a time onto a take-away conveyor located either at the end of the line or along side the line. The robotic depanner can change the orientation of the product so that it would maintain the same configuration as in the pan or turn the product so that it is traveling perpendicular to the Auto-Bake line.  For example, the product orientation can either remain 18 pieces across or be turned to 6 pieces across the width of the belt.
  • The second is a needle type depanner which uses needles to gently lift product out of the pan and place it onto a take-away conveyor.  The conveyor locations and product orientation capabilities are the same as for the vacuum depanner.  Both style robotic depanners maintain the same product centerline distances as were in the pans

Capway Systems can supply several different styles of depanners for any product from croissants to buns, to bread in a conveyorized situation.

  • Pans with baked goods enter the Depanner and are metered back to system rate by means of a metering belt integrated within the Depanner (except Depanner with delidder option). As the pans enter the depanning area they are held down by magnets mounted within the pan conveyor. At the same time the product is removed by vacuum cups, which are mounted on a vacuum belt. A large radius vacuum chamber is used for gentle depanning of the product. A product discharge conveyor mounted within the Depanner frame supports the product as it is being released from cups and conveys the product to the cooler infeed conveyors.
  • Also available, is the delidding feature which magnetically removes lids from the pan prior to product depanning.  The lids are placed on a “lid return” conveyor for recycling back to the relidding area.
