Donuts
A donut (sometimes spelled Doughnut), is a sweet batter or dough which is deep fried and usually topped with a glaze or icing. The most common types of donuts are the yeast raised donut or the cake donut.

A yeast raised donut is produced on a make-up line. There are various techniques but usually a sheeted dough is cut into ring shapes and then the rings are dropped into a fryer. Once cooked the donuts are glazed or decorated.
A cake donut usually uses a depositor to deposit cake batter in a circle directly into the oil in a fryer. The cake donuts are turned once while in the fryer and cooked for approximately 90 seconds.
Other variations of donuts may include filled donuts, twist donuts or powdered donuts.
