A cinnamon roll is a pastry which has become increasingly popular in the United States and in Northern Europe. Commonly it is made by adding a thin layer of butter, cinnamon and sugar over a rolled sheet of yeast dough. The dough is then rolled up and sliced into individual portions. The portions are then baked and topped with icing (usually a cream cheese icing). A typical cinnamon roll will range in diameter from approximately 3” to 5”.
Today’s advances in bakery equipment will allow precise production of a quality cinnamon roll. A typical laminated cinnamon roll line would include the following equipment:
-
Make-Up (duster, chunker, sheeter, cutter, filling machine, conical roller, guillotine)
-
Final Proofer
-
Icing
-
Pans
